Dykon: Laurel Holloman

She was one half of the famous L Word couple, Tibette or Betinna (whichever way you look at it) but she’s a woman of many talents.

She’s this week’s Dykon:

Name:

Laurel Holloman.

Also known as:

Tina in The L Word.

Not to be confused with:

The other L Word blonde Leisha Hailey.

Last seen:

Announcing that she will be joining co-stars Leisha Hailey and Katherine Moening at Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend.

Since the show ended, Laurel has become a respected abstract painter.
She will be at Dinah’s host hotel, the Palm Springs Hilton Hotel, to show and sell prints of her series “Written on the Body.”

A woman of many talents!

Best feature:

Cheekbones, nose and lips.

Most likely to:

Spark your interest in abstract art.

Least likely to:

Be afraid of any sex scene that comes her way.
She’s proud of the controversial fight/love scene she did with Jennifer Beals at the end of The L Word’s first season and she also loves the sex scenes she did with Jennifer and Rachel Shelley while she was heavily pregnant.

“Both of those scenes are beautiful to me in the way that they celebrate the female body. They celebrate the power of motherhood and this beautiful gift we’re given as women to be able to have children”.

Is she a sista?

Laurel is bisexual, telling AfterEllen that, before she married her husband, she developed a crush on a woman who worked on the movie The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love.

“That crush probably turned into my first experience with a woman, and it was beautiful and amazing, and it never happened again, and I wished it had”.

Phwoarrr rating?

A gorgeous and talented woman? We think this might be off the scale…

Do mention:

How she’s been part of the change in film and TV that’s seen more lesbians represented, from her big break in 1995 playing baby butch Randy in Two Girls in Love to her popular role as Tina in The L Word.

“It starts to hit you that you’ve been part of pop culture, and you’ve been part of something that’s having a social impact and a political impact in a time that we need it”.

Don’t mention:

Her husband – she revealed that they are in the midst of a trial separation.
In 2011, Laurel filed for divorce.
