Review: Grandma

This is Lily Tomlin’s first lead role in a film in almost 30 years. The lesbian actress portrays a lesbian poet called Ellie whose partner has just died. Ellie and her granddaughter go on a road trip to confront their pain with mix results. Tomlin’s performance has gathered much acclaim and we can see why. She is a triumph in this wonderfully original movie brought to us by the director of About a Boy. A must-see over the holiday period.
